Works finished on the historical vessel FMS “GERA”

Cleaning and conserving the 60 year old historical vessel FMS “GERA” was completed by Rupertus Strako last week.

Among other things, the sidetrawler was docked for this purpose for two weeks at BREDO Dockgesellschaft. After docking, the historical ship was first high-pressure cleaned in order to remove the fouling on the submerged part of the hull (barnacles, mussels, oysters). Afterwards, the hull was coated with black Intertuff. The upper part received a new green coating. A corrosion protection coating was also applied to the steel deck and the superstructure.
