The history of the Heinrich Rönner Group begins with its founder, Heinrich Rönner, whostarted the company with five employees in his own garage. From these humble beginnings, a successful, family-run group of companies has developed over generations, built on solidarity, responsibility, and a long-term perspective.

1981

Founding

Heinrich Rönner GmbH was founded as a temporary staffing agency with five employees, a tool shed in the company’s own garage, and an office in the room that was actually intendedto be the living room of the house.

1988

Unterweser Stahl- und Maschinenbau GmbH

Integration of Unterweser Stahl- und Maschinenbau GmbH into the Heinrich Rönner Group. The company expands the Group's expertise in hydraulic steel engineering and heavy steel construction. With extensive fabrication and logistics capabilities in Bremerhaven, USM delivers complex port, flood protection, and infrastructure projects.

1993

Roßlauer Schiffswerft GmbH & Co. KG

Acquisition of Roßlauer Schiffswerft by the Heinrich Rönner Group. With the integration of this long-established site, the Group expands its capabilities in bridge construction, hydraulic steel engineering, and other demanding structural steel projects.

1995

Stahlbau Nord GmbH

Integration of Stahlbau Nord GmbH into the Heinrich Rönner Group. Since joining the Group, the company has grown into a leading partner in shipbuilding and heavy steel construction, manufacturing ship sections and complete vessels, as well as industrial plants and offshore steel structures.

1998

EnPro Engineering- und Produktionsgesellschaft mbH

Integration of EnPro Engineering und Produktionsgesellschaft into the Heinrich Rönner Group. The company strengthens the Group’s expertise in the engineering, design, and manufacturing of customized components, plants, and systems for the ship and yachtbuilding industry as well as for mechanical and plant engineering.

Metall- und Holzbau Andreas Carstens GmbH und Co. KG

Integration of Metall- und Holzbau into the Heinrich Rönner Group. With a history spanning more than 80 years, the company expands the Group’s expertise in metal construction, timber construction, and interior fit-out. Its craftsmanship, reliability, and extensive experience make it a valuable contributor to the successful delivery of a wide range of projects across the Group.

2001

BVT Bremen GmbH & Co. KG

Integration of BVT Bremen into the Heinrich Rönner Group. For more than 20 years, the company has continued the shipbuilding tradition at the former Bremer Vulkan site in Bremen-Vegesack and strengthens the Group’s capabilities in the production of sophisticated ship sections, offshore components, and industrial facilities. BVT Bremen combines maritime tradition with modern manufacturing and steel construction expertise.

2007

SET Schiffbau- u. Entwicklungs­gesellschaft Tangermünde mbH

Acquisition of SET by the Heinrich Rönner Group. With the integration of the company, the Group expands its capabilities in specialized shipbuilding while securing the future of an experienced industry partner. Today, SET focuses on the construction of specialized vessels and the integration of sustainable, future-oriented propulsion systems.

2010

USM-Nord Unterweser Schiff- und Maschinenbau GmbH

Integration of USM-Nord Unterweser Schiff- und Maschinenbau GmbH into the Heinrich Rönner Group. With the integration of this experienced specialist, the Group expands its expertise in hydraulic steel engineering, ship repair, and offshore services.

Bremerhavener Unternehmerpreis

Heinrich Rönner erhält den Bremerhavener Unternehmerpreis für überlegtes, aktives, unternehmerisches Handeln, das auch das Gestern für zukünftige Entscheidungen im Blick behält. Auch der gelungene Generationswechsel wird mit dem Preis gefeiert.

Rönner Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH

The Rönner Verwaltungsgesellschaft was established in response to the Group’s continuous growth. Today, as the Group’s central service company, it consolidates key administrative functions including human resources, finance and payroll accounting, IT, legal affairs, marketing, procurement, and insurance, thereby providing the organizational foundation for the successful collaboration of all companies within the Heinrich Rönner Group.

Founding of BVT Chartering and Logistics in response to the growing demand for heavy-load transport and maritime logistics services. Today, the company strengthens the capabilities of the Heinrich Rönner Group through the professional planning and execution of complex transport projects on land and at sea. With its own fleet and maritime logistics expertise, BVT Chartering provides flexible solutions from a single source.

2016

German Ship Repair GmbH

Integration of German Ship Repair into the Heinrich Rönner Group. As a specialized provider of ship repair and maritime maintenance services, the company strengthens the Group’s expertise in the repair, maintenance, and modernization of vessels.

2018

Rupertus-Strako GmbH

Integration of Rupertus-Strako into the Heinrich Rönner Group. Created through the merger of the companies Rupertus and Strako, the company strengthens the Group’s capabilities with extensive expertise in corrosion protection and coating technology for steel structures in shipbuilding, steel construction, and hydraulic steel engineering.

TSU GmbH

Integration of TSU GmbH into the Heinrich Rönner Group. With 30 years of experience, the company expands the Group's expertise in the development and manufacturing of customized engineered solutions, including lifting equipment, specialized containers, and custom-built industrial systems.

V + S Vertrieb und Service GmbH

Integration of V + S Vertrieb und Service into the Heinrich Rönner Group. Founded in 1999, the company expands the Group's expertise with comprehensive inspection, installation, and maintenance services.

Bredo Dry Docks GmbH

The integration of BREDO DRY DOCKS into the Heinrich Rönner Group marks a significant expansion of the Group's ship repair capabilities. Established through the merger of BREDO Dockgesellschaft and German Dry Docks AG, the company enhances the Group's capacity for ship repair, conversion, and maintenance with its high-performance dry docks.

Arthur Friedrichs Industriebedarf GmbH

Integration of Arthur Friedrichs Industriebedarf into the Heinrich Rönner Group. With this long-established technical supplier, the Group expands its capabilities with high-quality products and comprehensive service solutions for industry and the maritime sector.

NK Stahlwasserbau GmbH & Co. KG

Integration of the steel construction division of the Nobiskrug shipyard into the Heinrich Rönner Group. Operating today as NK Stahlwasserbau, the company combines its long-standing expertise in structural steel, hydraulic steel, and bridge construction, further strengthening the Group’s capabilities with a well-established site and comprehensive know-how for demanding infrastructure and hydraulic engineering projects.

Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven GmbH

Acquisition of Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven by a consortium consisting of the Heinrich Rönner Group, Zech Group, and Lürssen. By securing the future of this long-established shipyard location, the company strengthens the Group’s capabilities in complex repair, conversion, and newbuild projects. Today, Lloyd Werft combines maritime tradition with modern shipbuilding technology and comprehensive shipyard expertise.

GMW Burg GmbH

Integration of GMW Burg GmbH near Magdeburg into the Heinrich Rönner Group. With this strong partner, the Group adds the Burg site to its network and expands its expertise in large-scale component manufacturing and heavy machining.

FSG Shipyard GmbH

Acquisition of FSG by the Heinrich Rönner Group. With the integration of the historic Flensburg shipyard, the Group expands its expertise in specialized shipbuilding, including ferries, RoRo vessels, and offshore support ships. FSG operates one of Europe's largest covered shipbuilding halls.
