Around 120 vessels per year are slipped here to carry out maintenance, repairs, and statutory inspections.
In June 2025, the engineering office Fanger from Magdeburg was once again commissioned with planning, project execution, tendering, and construction supervision, an important step for the successful implementation of this project.
However, wear and damage to the rails have recently led to outages and increasing maintenance costs. SET is now investing specifically in the future:
- Start of construction: August 2026
- Construction period: approx. 4 months
- Renewal of all 8 rail pairs on land and underwater
This measure represents the largest investment at the site in over 40 years, a clear commitment to inland shipping and the future of shipyards.
