Successful unloading process of the Kleinostheim lock by NK Stahlwasserbau

After transporting the dismantled parts of the Kleinostheim lock, work continued in Osterrönfeld in April 2025. We report on the current measures and the close cooperation with our partners.

In January 2025, the dismantled stem gate wings and longitudinal channel locks of the Kleinostheim lock were transported to Rendsburg by barge. Now, in April 2025, work at the Osterrönfeld construction site is in full swing.

The following measures are currently being carried out on site:

  • Corrosion protection by the company Nietiedt,
  • Repair of the steel structure and hydraulics,
  • renewal of the rubbing strips and the bearing and guide equipment,
  • Scaffolding by the company Sottmann for the construction site equipment.

In close cooperation with the Rendsburg Port Authority and our partners, we are ensuring that the project is implemented efficiently and smoothly.

This work represents an important step for the future use of the waterways and illustrates the continuous investment in infrastructure and quality.
