Lloyd Werft signs LOI for the construction of a cable-laying vessel

Last week, we signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the offshore service provider Megamas Resources Pte. Ltd. from Singapore for the planning and construction of versatile cable-laying vessels (1+1).

The agreement forms the basis for further negotiations on a specific construction contract.

The project is being developed in cooperation with the international investment partner Crewstone International Private Equity & Investments. The aim is to meet the increasing global demand for highly specialized offshore vessels - particularly in the field of laying and maintaining submarine cables for telecommunications and energy transmission.

We are working closely with the Norwegian company Ulstein Design & Solutions AS on the technical development and implementation of the project. Ulstein has been developing a high-performance ship type for complex cable laying tasks since the end of 2023.
The combined expertise of all partners enables customized solutions for demanding offshore applications - an important contribution to securing global infrastructure in an increasingly networked world.

Technical key data:
Length: approx. 120 meters
Width: approx. 23 meters
Load capacity: around 8,000 tons
Average speed: approx. 14 knots
Accommodation capacity: up to 70 people

We would like to thank you very much for the trust you have placed in us to date and would be delighted to add another special ship to our list of successfully built units, which would also secure our position as a strong partner in the construction of complex special ships and individual structures of the highest quality.
