In October 2025, GMW Burg GmbH (formerly GMW Prämab) was newly established by the Rönner family. Since then, it has been an integral part of the Heinrich Rönner Group. As part of the restructuring, a former GMW Prämab site was taken over and continued under a new organizational structure. Under the agreement, GMW Burg will carry out the mechanical machining of crankcases for various engine types. The focus is on large volume components with high requirements in terms of precision, process reliability, and manufacturing capacity.
Investment in production capacities
To implement the cooperation, GMW Burg is expanding its site and production capacities by reactivating and acquiring an additional hall complex at the former GMW Prämab site. This creates additional production space, expands manufacturing capabilities, and generates new jobs. At the same time, the machine park is being expanded. A key element is the Waldrich Coburg PowerTec 6500 AT M2 NC portal milling machine, designed for particularly large and heavy workpieces. It processes components up to 4.5 m × 6.5 m × 10.5 m with weights of up to 200 tons and is one of the most powerful freely available machining centers in Europe.

Long term production perspective
The investments create the conditions to reliably implement the agreed production volumes over the entire term. Production will start after completion of site preparation and commissioning of the facilities. The agreement strengthens industrial cooperation between both companies and underlines the importance of long term partnerships in the large engine sector. At the same time, it contributes to the sustainable use of existing industrial sites.
