Enztal-Crossing of the Highway BAB 8 at Pforzheim

The railroad bridge, weighing in at approximately 700 tons, was installed by the Rosslauer Schiffswerft on 01 December 2018. The highway BAB 8 had to be fully blocked off for parts of the work. The local newspaper Pforzheimer Zeitung documented the procedure in a video.

The timberframe railroad bridge was assembled next to the highway and later carefully moved into its final position. The mental tension for all those involved was enormous. Many spectators watched the process with great fascination.

Specifications of the bridge: Length 56.7 meters, width 13.2 meters, Height 8.5 meters, weight approx. 700 tons.
